Hi, I'm Mia, the founder and director of Gentle Beginnings Collective, and the person who will make sure your family is matched with exactly the right support.

I started Gentle Beginnings because I believe the postpartum period deserves far more than it typically gets. Not a rushed visit. Not a generic checklist. A real relationship with a professional who is the right fit for your family, your home, and your needs. My job now is to make sure that match is perfect and then to stay involved every step of the way.

I work personally with every family who comes to Gentle Beginnings to understand what you're looking for, what your postpartum experience has been like, and what kind of support will actually make a difference — then I match you with the right member of our team.

One of the things I hear most from new parents is that they wish someone had helped them prepare — not just with a registry, but with the real stuff. What to actually expect. What to have on hand. What to let go of. That's exactly what my prenatal consultations are for. Whether you're a few months out or weeks away from your due date, we'll sit down together and work through everything so you can walk into parenthood feeling genuinely ready.

In a prenatal consultation with me, we cover:

  • Getting your home set up for a newborn — the essentials, what's overhyped, and what you'll actually reach for at 3am

  • Building your postpartum support plan — who's helping, when, and how to ask for what you need

  • Checking off your to-do list — feeding decisions, pediatrician, hospital bag, car seat, all of it

  • Understanding what the postpartum period really looks like emotionally and physically, so nothing catches you off guard

  • Navigating your fertility benefits — if you have Carrot, Maven, or Progyny, we'll make sure you know exactly how to use them toward postpartum support

This is especially valuable for: First-time parents who want to feel prepared, not just excited. Families who don't have nearby family support to lean on. Anyone who's ever thought I don't even know what I don't know.
